‘Dead Man On The G Train’ is the new single from Hannah Rose Platt. It’s a lively yet isolated track that devotes a good half of its runtime to showcasing her vocals above nothing more than a simple guitar backing. The track eventually kicks into life without losing the nuanced folk influences that have found a way into her sound. On the genesis of the track (and the video that comes with it), she says: “I wanted to write a little four-minute ‘pulp noir’ mystery thriller, which sets the tone for the rest of the record. Ed and I had so much fun recording this track, expect to hear bombastic drums and beastly guitar train sounds. We hope to transport you to 1930s New York, someone’s boarding the G train to Brooklyn and they won’t be getting off.” Her new album, Deathbed Confessions, is out on May 19th, 2023. -Dan Peeke
